Cherry Picking for Patent Codes

WIPO Launches New Initiative on Access to Specialized Patent Information
Geneva, September 17th
A new public-private partnership which aims to provide industrial property offices, universities and research institutes in least developed countries with free access, and similar institutions in certain developing countries with low cost access, to advanced tools and services for retrieving and analyzing patent data was launched at WIPO’s headquarters on September 17, 2010. This will support these countries in effectively leveraging the valuable information contained in patent documents to facilitate technological innovation and economic development....

Questel sells Edital to CT Corsearch, part of Wolters Kluwer Corporate Legal Services and focuses on its Patent Business
Munich, Paris, Washington, July 22nd:
Questel a leading provider in intellectual property information solutions announced today that it has signed a definitive agreement under which CT Corsearch, part of Wolters Kluwer Corporate Le-gal Service will purchase Edital, its subsidiary specializing in trademark information.
This sale is part of Questel's previously announced strategy to focus on its patent businesses. Last month Questel communicated on two acquisitions, PatentPilot and Specialized Patent Services, reinforcing its existing activities in this area. “The Edital sale will give us the means to accelerate a build-up strategy around the innovative, fast-growing patent industry”, says Charles Besson, Questel's C.E.O.

Questel Acquires Patentpilot Business from Unycom and enters into a cross-distribution agreement

Questel, a leading provider of intellectual property information services worldwide, and Unycom, a well-known provider of Intellectual Property Management Software, have formed a strategic and global alliance to mutually distribute their services.

World Trademark Review's exclusive survey asked trademark counsel around the world to identify those companies to which they outsource their trademark and domain management, and how they rate them.
Methodology: Respondents who used the companies featured in the "Most used service providers" survey were asked, on a scale of one to ten, to rate the service received in terms of quality of service and value for money. The average score is presented aside as a customer approval rating.

Questel devrait bientôt officialiser des résultats pour
son exercice 2009 qui reflètent une croissance organique
du chiffre d’affaires de 5%. En 2008, selon des données
bilans disponibles sur le site Les Echos, Questel avait
enregistré un CA de 15 millions d’euros, un taux d’excédent
brut d’exploitation de 29% et un résultat net avant
impôt de 4,3 M€. Courant 2009 Questel a réorganisé son
offre en la plaçant sous deux marques « ombrelles »
: www. orbit.com est désormais le guichet unique regroupant
tous les services d’information brevets de Questel ;
