To my mind, it would be even better if WIPO made mandatory the filing of
an ASCIII text file as the ST25 document for such applications to be
considered valid. Therein lies the rub, as they say. "Machine readable
format" I believe is what ST25 states (or the corresponding Admin
Instructions). Well of course, anything that can be saved to an
electronic media of any kind is in a machine readable format, its just a
question of knowing which one !!!

This is typically one area where there is room for vast improvement. But
~ perhaps we should start with that awful PatentIn software and find some
way of redesigning it so that it doesn't seem like too much effort to
actually get the sequences into it in the first place :-)
