Hi Tom,

I'm not sure exactly what is going on with the PIUG Wiki and the 'changeove=
r' that you mentioned but I hope that you are not planning to replace the P=
IUG Discussion List with the Wiki. Another group that I participate in tri=
ed this several months ago and it was a complete disaster. The extra steps=
 and the overhead to use the Wiki discouraged most people from using it. P=
lease tell me you are not discontinuing the PIUG Discussion List.

There is still opportunity to join today's training webinar or sign up for =
the next two. Here's some additional information based on feedback and othe=
r observations.

Training will last just one hour. The actual GoToWebinar session is schedul=
ed for longer to allow participants to login early, which is very highly re=
commended, and stay online longer to ask questions.

Nearly half of the volunteers for PIUG committees, task forces and working =
groups have not yet signed up for the wiki. Your team leaders are counting =
on you to use the wiki to contribute to PIUG teams. Please signup for wiki =
training and learn why the team wiki spaces are so useful.

Issues with the PIUG Discussion List are driving wiki development. The PIUG=
 Board will be considering the changeover in the next month. If you want to=
 know what the wiki PIUG Discussion Forum is all about and how to use it, j=
oin a wiki training session.

Three upcoming one-hour tutorials on using the PIUG Wiki:


 * Thursday, November 20, 2008, 11:00am - noon Eastern time
 * Friday, November 21, 2008, 11:00am - noon Eastern time

 * Monday, November 24, 2008, 2:00pm - 3:00pm Eastern time

. We need to start the webinar on time since one hour is barely enough time=
 to complete the planned agenda. You may want to plan on staying online lon=
ger to ask questions after the semi-formal presentation. In addition, you m=

Over 100 people have registered for the PIUG wiki so far. If you haven't ye=
t, I need to remind you: do not to use your email address as your USERNAME.=
 Please use your name or recognizable alias such as your name with periods,=
 underscore characters or the like. PIUG members should use the same email =
address for the wiki as they do for their membership via 123SignUp in order=
 to access members-only functionality and content on the wiki. Either email=
 address can be changed at a later date.

If none of these times works for you, let me know your preferences as I pla=
n additional sessions in the next few weeks.
