Sorry for the earlier incomplete eMail. I try it again:
We have found some chinese utitly models and patents which database
entries do not reflect all IPC classes from the original documents:
CN 1702364 (missing IPC: F16L21/0)
CN 2745800 (missing IPC: B60N3/04)
CN 2736214 (missing IPC: B65D77/08)
CN 2743657 (missing IPC: B05B1/22)
All examples were published before 2006; the missing IPC class in each
case is the secondary class. Databases such as espacenet, Depatisnet or INPADOCDB contain reclassified IPC symbols from the Master Classification Database as well as the original IPC 1-7 symbols. Theoratically, no IPC symbol should get lost. In fact, this seems to be true for most chinese documents. However, in some cases the documentation is incomplete.
The CNIPR database seems to contain all IPC classes from the original documents (but not the reclassified classes from the MCD). For the above mentioned examples no original IPC symbol is missed. In order to get a complete search result the CNIPR database should be used as an additional source.
Is anybody aware of another database which contains all original IPC classes from chinese documents?
Sincerely,
Joerg Ohms
