[PIUG List] Patent Information & Retrieval 2008: References

Patent Retireval experts from industry met at the CIKM venue for the PAIR w=
orkshop to study the next generation of patent search tools. A balanced mi=
xture of IP professionals met and presented their special information needs=
 in Information Retrieval (IR) & Knowledge Management (KM)
 
The CIKM PAIR program committee accepted seven full papers that cover topic=
s like large-scale patent annotations, chemical IR, patent search strategie=
s or ideas on measuring the progress of system performance for retrieval ta=
sks in the intellectual property domain. Additionally a number of authors p=
resented their work as posters. Researchers presented relevant technical i=
deas, for example for high recall search in prior art searching and new app=
roaches to patent and technology landscape searching. Three PIUG members we=
re present.
