Dear Chris,
I too am somewhat concerned that the British Library denies having RPC
in its collection. It certainly did some while back, right the way back
to the beginning. Even if it has gone to the basement, it should still
be available. I would recommend to Janine that she enquires again, with
the evidence from the BL catalogue record.
I suppose the other possibility is that this specific volume may have
expired through over-work. Olin Mathieson v. Biorex is a classic case on
obviousness, and the paper copy may have just got too thumbed to be
preserved. I remember being amazed during my thesis research to
discover that the appropriate volume of RPC automatically fell open at
the precise page of the famous "Cripps question" from the 1930s -
thinks, someone has been here before!
