Dear PIUG Discussion List Members,
I guess that I have been what has been referred to as a "lurker" (a non-PIUG member recipient of the list) for about 10 years. I am a metallurgist, not an IP specialist, and use patent literature to guide some of my research and to assess competitor activity. The list has been both interesting and useful to me and I have learned a lot from the discussions of others, as well as from the couple of simple questions that I have asked myself. Although I would still, I hope, be able to read your thoughts and queries via the wiki, the disappearance of the list would sadden me. I cannot think that my ability to post messages has been to the detriment of paying PIUG members or of IP professionals in general.
I recognise that PIUG members may, quite justifiably, hold a different view from mine and I respect that they are the ones who make this decision.
