[PIUG List] Wiki Registration -- Do not use your email address as your USERNAME -- Use your name in some form

All:
 
Now that people are registering for wiki.piug.org, I need to remind all: do
not to use your email address as your USERNAME. Please use your name or
recognizable alias such as your name with periods, underscore characters or
the like. A systematic change in the registration process is pending.
 
I regret that I have had to delete entries from about five new registrants
and that each will have to register again to get more than read-only access.
 
Here is what I wrote in the announcement message of October 13th:
 
Wiki ACCESS and SIGNUP is explained in the PIUG Northeast Conference
presentation in the Electronics Communications Committee forum at
<http://wiki.piug.org/x/EIA7> http://wiki.piug.org/x/EIA7. The wiki is
viewable by anonymous access, but users should sign up for edit and
collaborative access. Three issues for new signup:

1. USERNAME --Do not use your email address as your username. Use your
name or recognizable alias as your username.


2. EMAIL ADDRESS -- PIUG members should use the same email address for
the wiki as they do for their membership via 123SignUp in order to access
members-only functionality and content on the wiki. Either can be changed at
a later date.


3. PASSWORDS must be at least 6 characters and include at least one
numeral and one letter.

Thanks to all who have enthusiastically supported the wiki rollout.
