AW: [PIUG List] PCT publications with B1 suffix

Dear Hilary,

The WIPO do not really publish B1 documents. To name a republished WO A doc=
ument B1 document is a help created some times ago to show the difference b=
etween the first publication and the second, third or later application (Es=
pacenet). Other offices like EPO and GPTO name such documents as A8, A9. Th=
e difference between the 3 publications you got can have changes in the cla=
ims (amended claims) or can be revised or corrected documents. Most of the =
database provider and free services don´t retrieve the different versions=
. The only and free source where you get all published versions of a WO App=
lications is WIPO patent scope.

I would mention to search for this document in the WIPO Patent Scope http:/=
/www.wipo.int/pctdb/en/
Then display the bibliographic data and open the page "documents". Then you=
 will see a list with all published and republished documents.
 
The next link shows you an example of an other patentnumber.

Dear colleagues,

I recently conducted a search on Micropatent in which a PCT document WO
xxxxxxxxxxxx B1 was retrieved. Since then, every search has retrieved 2 or
3 of these documents. Can anyone explain what they are? I can't find
anything in the archives that explains the designation.
