PIUG looks forward to welcoming you to the Northeast Meeting beginning
Monday, October 13. PIUG is also is pleased to present the Wednesday,
October 15 AM workshop: Automating Patent Analysis for Competitive
Advantage, presented by Barry Brager of Perception Partners. This is the
fourth time PIUG has sponsored this workshop on the important mechanics of
and insights from patent analysis, and it is recommended for searchers,
information scientists, librarians, patent agents and attorneys.
This workshop addresses the important steps of performing and automating
patent analysis from start to finish. The workshop walks attendees through
the critical post-search steps of patent data cleaning, taxonomy development
and categorization, visualization, insight development and report
formatting. There are overviews of the appropriateness of software tools
from multiple providers, lessons in preparing and presenting data to
management using analytic techniques, and important hands-on examples of
preparing, handling and manipulating data from multiple sources for use and
re-use in ongoing analysis activities.
