Hi Jeremy,

Good effort there.

One early web-based patent search system which I
still fondly missed is Mapit, a novel and useful
system invented by the good people from MNIS.

Among many prior arts in the area of concept
search, you may find these of interest:
    * Barbara J. Grosz, Natural language
processing, Artificial Intelligence, Volume 19,
Issue 2, October 1982, Pages 131-136
    * Method and apparatus for natural language
processing (1984): http://www.delphion.com/details?pn=EP00180888A2
    * Method for resolution of natural-language
queries against full-text databases (1992):
http://www.delphion.com/details?pn=EP00597630A1
    * Management and analysis of document
information text (1996): http://www.delphion.com/details?pn=WO09816890A1
    * Database analysis using a probabilistic
ontology (1998): http://www.delphion.com/details?pn=WO09931606A1
As far as NLP is concerned, we've come a
relatively long way and still some distant to go
before we 'solve' pragmatic analysis. Let's persevere.
