I went on Google Books and found the quote "our perfidious lawyer" was fro=
m "Flying Dutchman: The Life of Anthony Fokker" and then went on Espacenet=
 and found the patents by inventors with the last name of "Fokker". The ti=
tle of this one looked like it was appropriate and the abstract said "No P=
atent granted (Sealing fee not paid)."
