Indeed, who would not heartily concur? I certainly agree with Mark.
For many years, Stephen Adams has been a uniquely outstanding member of
the patent information community, distinguished not only by his
encyclopedic knowledge, but also for being so approachable.
Congratulations to Stephen and commendations to the committee for arriving
at such an excellent choice!

I heartily concur, Stephen is a fine man and helps out all, large and
small. He has recognition in our hearts, but it would be nice to

Stephen has been the keynote speaker at PIUG Annual Meetings TWICE.
Stephen has been voted the favorite speaker for many years.
Stephen’s presentations are so popular that he was placed as the last
speaker on the last day to keep the audience from leaving on early
airplane flights.
Stephen has served as the foreign patent office liaison.
Stephen has contributed 10,000 clearly written and knowledgeable messages
to the PIUG email list.
In 2001 Stephen organized the “JIPI” game (Jeopardy for Patent Searchers)
as an evening entertainment.
So precisely why has Stephen Adams never received a PIUG Service Award?
Good Question
This is clearly an oversight and we would like to correct this situation
immediately.
Of course it has not always gone smoothly. In Baltimore Stephen suddenly
took ill and his presentation had to be given by Edlyn while Stephen
languished in the hospital.
In 1998 Stephen’s first talk at PIUG was interrupted by a loud guteral
WhoooooAH! There was a travel agent conference in the next room. Hawiaan
fire dancers performing for the travel agent conference.
