With regard to the number of pages, there are at least two EP-A
publications in the field of genetic sequences which are in excess of
1,000,000 A4 pages each, principally because of the printed sequence
data. I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry over this. Requiring that
such a monster is laid open in a form amenable to paper printing is
pointless - no-one is ever going to read the majority of pages.

In putting together your stats, you also need to bear in mind that
publication practices may have varied over time - see for example the
change in PCT policy announced in January this year with respect to PCT
filings from 1/1/08 - all sequence data will be removed to a separate
segment from the text. The Annex will be stored in the Documents tab on
PatentScope, but I have still to see any reaction from database
producers as to whether they will be automatically retrieving the
annexes as part of their data stream. If they don't, we will suddenly
see a lot more 'short' biotech applications.
