If the patent assignment(s) was not electronically filed, then you are
correct that it can take several months for the assignment information to
show up in the public databases. (Electronically-filed assignments are
updated automatically. The delay in seeing would be to the uploading
schedule for the database.)

I've been told that the USPTO is extremely slow in updating their
reassignment records. Can anyone confirm this? We've been doing a very
involved reassignment search, but the numbers aren't really matching up to
what we know to be true.
