Having been a member of this species (employee inventor) quite a while ago,
I can give you some old data and info (all US).
Forty years ago, Air Products and Chemicals (Allentown, PA) had the
applicants split $75 for each US patent filing and split another $75 upon
the patent issuing. Although I have 3 patents from that organization (IMHO,
should have had more), I only got $37.50 from the first filing, received
before I left.
I'm not sure what the cash awards were for Amoco Corp. (now BP) since I only
have 6 disclosures (released to me), but they eventually gave certificates,
public recognition, and possibly some cash for inventors of 5 patents, 10
patents, etc. At the suggestion of several of us, Amoco and it's operating
companies began a program of innovation awards, made to participants in
programs that either didn't lead to patents or where the participants made
significant contributions but were not on any patent forthcoming.
Of course, all employees with any possibility of making patent disclosures
were required to sign a patent agreement.
