Good Afternoon,
In the esp_at_cenet search system the EPO uses distinguishing suffix letters=
 
in the number search index if the number series are ambiguous.
But take the example JP 2935750; if you search the number JP 2600123 you
will retrieve two different inventions:
JP 2600123Y2 a registered utility model
JP 2600123B2 a registered patent application

However, if you perform a search using the number JP2600123Y you would
only retrieve the utility model and the number JP2600123B would only
retrieve the patent.
Therefore, if you are not sure about the possible letter extensions, it is=
 
better to omit the letters in your search.

I see a listing in INPADOC with a Japanese family member JP 2935750B B2.=
 
Does anyone know what the letter "B" refers to at the end of the number? I=
 
understand the "B2" kind code.
