Senior patent data analyst job description  

Questel is seeking to hire a senior patent data analyst to improve the company’s offering in professional patent search and analysis products. This is a temporary position to replace a person currently on sick leave.

Primary duties:

  • Analyze patent data sources available from patent offices and third parties
  • Liaise with technical personnel at patent offices on patent data issues
  • Coordinate with marketing team to design patent data products
  • Specify and plan the integration of new patent data sources in existing patent databases
  • Coordinate with database development team for data integration, refining technical specifications, and validate data architecture choices
  • Test new patent data products, oversee fixes from technical team
  • Assist support team with complex patent data requests.

Job requirements

  • 5+ years experience in working with patent data, preferably at a Patent Office or a patent information commercial provider
  • BSc in information sciences or similar degree
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, In both English and French
  • Experience with data mining and/or text mining tools would be a plus

Sales Engineer China  

Job Details

We are currently looking for an Sales Engineer located in or near Shanghai, China. The person will be responsible for developing and executing long-term sales strategy for our families of products; identify and manage selected clients; and maintain relationships.

Objective:

Open the Shanghai market to our brands, and create a sustainable market through sales calls and marketing activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain client base via online Customer Relationship Management tool (CRM).
  • Contact, present and negotiate with potential and existing clients.
  • Monthly visits and reports on these visits.
  • Participate in trade shows, events, and conferences.
  • Train customers.
  • Weekly and monthly reports on sales and results of marketing and promotional activates.

Requirements:

  • Attention to detail.
  • Fluent in English and Chinese mother tongue.
  • Highly organized and analytical with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven high level customer service orientation, teamwork, quality, and flexibility.
  • Able to work independently.

Marketing and Sales Assistant – Shanghai, China

Responsibilities

Marketing Assistant

  • Assist in the preparation of marketing and publicity material
  • Organize and take part in regular publicity duties including leafleting and posterboard circulation 
  • Create possible promotion ideas in conjunction with the Marketing Manager
  • Assist in the distribution of information e.g. direct mailings, phone campaigns
  • Help to arrange displays
  • Assist with Press and/or VIP nights including invitations, seating arrangements, refreshments
  • Produce material for the website
  • Commitment to improve allocated task area
Sales Assistant
  • Ensure efficiency in finalizing the payment, in financial reconciliation and in accounting
  • Coordinate calendar and travel reservations for supervisor and others in the department.
  • Coordinate various meeting schedules that include internal personnel as well as customers.
  • Support Sales team in CRM system administration.
  • Gather weekly and monthly reports from supervisor's direct reports.
  • Plan and carry out assigned administrative projects.

Asia Business Customer Service Specialist – Shanghai, China
Objectives

To handle customer questions, complaints, and billing inquiries with the highest degree of courtesy, professionalism, and timeless manner.  To strive to resolve customer issues with one call resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Answers customer/client requests or inquiries concerning services, products, billing, equipment, claims, and reports problem areas.
  • Continually maintain working knowledge of all company products, services and promotions.
  • Offer alternative Questel solutions where appropriate with the objective of retaining customer's business.
  • Interact with other internal department to resolve customer issues using web-based tool Bugzilla and CRM.
  • Demonstrate the associated proficiency in typing and grammar and in translating into Chinese any literature/customer support electronic documents or web-based pages.
  • Organize and operate customer trainings and conferences.
  • May assist in training new employees and perform other duties as assigned by management.
