What's New Patents?
Offline delivery of Questel•Orbit
search results has been completely enhanced with the introduction of the
new EXPORT command. This command expands the offline options for file
formats, page styles, and print commands. Email notification has been
enhanced with the addition of the export’s title and the number
of records to the email subject line. The EXPORT command includes both
an easy-to-use menu, as well as expert mode.
With the EXPORT command, you can:
- Send offline record displays to a postal address or up to six email
addresses
- Select from TXT, PDF, RTF and XML file formats
- Choose from seven Page Styles, including a PlusPat Family Report format
- SORT your result
- Include a Title, that will appear in your email subject line
- EXPORT up to a 1,000 records at a time
- Use LEGAL, CITE, FULLCLMS & the PLUS command
- Use MFAMSTAT/E to obtain a Family Legal Status display from PlusPat
To use this new offline feature, simply enter the command: EXPORT. Menu prompting will guide you through all the selection options.
When requesting email
delivery, you will receive an email with a subject line:
Questel•Orbit Export: <your export title> …. <number
of records exported>
The body of the email will include links to both zipped and unzipped copies of your offline results. Use the zipped link to speed-up downloading of large exports and use the unzipped version to avoid the unzipping process for smaller downloads.

We are pleased to announce the release of Questel•Orbit's PatentExaminer (www.patexaminer.com), a patent portfolio management system that speeds patent analysis and enhances the collaboration between search experts, engineers, and patent attorneys.
PatentExaminer facilitates the patent reading and analysis process by displaying the full-text patents and original facsimile patents side-by-side. A user-controlled text-highlighting feature finds concept clusters and allows for in depth text analysis. Ranking and annotation features are available to assist in the examination and collaboration process. Records can be filtered based on fifteen selection criteria and sorted four different ways. Data can be imported to PatentExaminer from an online search in Questel•Orbit, or SDI alerts can be delivered through PatentExaminer.
PatentExaminer
offers complete portfolio management by offering the ability to create
and name an unlimited number of workfiles as well as the ability to copy,
move, and delete results from one workfile to another.
The
search expert can create password-controlled access to PatentExaminer
directories and workfiles for an unlimited number of users.
Unlimited
numbers of records and workfiles can be archived for long term projects
and analysis.

French Granted Patents Now Available in PDS
Facsimile copies of French granted patents (B documents) are now available. Coverage starts in January 2000. Copies are usually available within 2 weeks of publication.
Orders can
be placed through Patent Delivery Service (PatentDelivery.com)
To order French
granted patents, simply insert a B after the number,
for example: FR2841042B.
