QPAT: More Information, Delivery Options, and Displayed Records

Full-text of French Patent Applications
French Applications Full-text is now available in QPAT. You can search the text of abstracts, claims and descriptions of all French patent applications published since 1980. A supplemental QPAT subscription will let you access the French Applications Full-text database.

Patent Delivery
QPAT subscribers now have more patent copy order and delivery options. You can order and download patent copies at www.patentdelivery.com, which lets you maintain all your patent copies in a portfolio that you can quickly access for five days after the order. You can also have patent copies that you ordered on QPAT available on your www.patentdelivery.com portfolio. What’s more, QPAT users with patent delivery in their subscriptions can extend PDS usage to company colleagues at no additional charge, and make invaluable patent information available to everyone.

Accessing portfolios is simple: just click on the “Direct access to Patent Delivery Service” link on the QPAT home page, then login with your QPAT User ID and password.

COMING THIS MONTH

Multifile Searching in a Single Search Statement
Search across QPAT full-text databases with new multifile search features. With one search statement you can search full-text applications and granted patents from the EP, PCT, France and the US. Display multifile search results either continuously as one grouping or separately by source database.

More Displayed and Exported Records
Display up to two hundred records per page in QPAT. With the “Records per Page” option to set the number of records displayed to 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 100, 150 or 200 pages. This new feature also lets you export up to 200 records in a single file.

Patent Delivery Service: Order and Deliver Patents Anywhere

Announced in the autumn communiqué, our newly enhanced Patent Delivery Service (PDS) is now a web-based service designed for quick and easy patent copy ordering and sharing. And because PDS is now on the Web, there’s no need for software installation. From any computer with web-access, just log into www.patentdelivery.com and start ordering and sharing documents.

Access patent copies from over 30 countries and international patent offices, as well as copies of different publication stages, from applications to grants.

New options let you either directly open and save the copies or e-mail them to yourself and other parties. The new Portfolio enhancement lets you keep track of ordered and delivered patents over the last 30 days, and maintain them for five days. Track by customer with built-in sub-account option.

Subscribe to PDS on an annual basis or pay as you go with your Questel•Orbit ID. QPAT users with patent delivery in their subscriptions have access to www.patentdelivery.com and, at no extra change, can extend PDS usage to company colleagues who want to order and share patent documents.

Beginning in 2004: Pay-as-you-go patent copies only $3.00 or 3 € per patent.

PlusPat: More Information, More Relevant Results, Faster Updating

GB Citations
We’ve added over 200,000 British (GB) records in PlusPat. Coverage starts in the 1980’s and is updated monthly. PlusPat now covers cited references from US, EP, PCT, FR and GB.

Note that while GB citations of Japanese and Korean patents are not standardized at this time, they will be in 2004.

Patent Relevancy Indicators
Beginning in January 2004: Search citations combined with relevancy indicators and zoom in on the most important citations. Relevancy indicators are available for patents published in EP, PCT, and FR. This enhancement will let you quickly search, retrieve and analyze citation information that is crucial to an application’s patentability.

Watch out for details next month.

Fast Updating for US and PCT Applications and Patents
Also slated for January 2004: Updating the US and PCT applications and patent information on the same week that they are published. No more waiting periods of a few weeks after publication. This means you get the most extensive information fast.

New release: Imagination 3.1b
