Questel has the pleasure to announce the release,
on November 27th, of a new alerting service
featuring additional flexibility and options.
Alerts portfolio :
- Accessible to all Questel users for
retrieving, searching and managing alert
results
- All alerts and results are all available
at www.questel.com/qip
and stored for a year at no cost (starting
in September 2008)
QPAT 6.7 :
The above alerts portfolio is fully integrated
into QPAT and makes alerts very easy to set
up, consult, modify and manage. Thus, users
can now choose :
- to run alerts weekly or monthly (or
even choose a different update code)
- to receive results when an abstract
is available only
- to refine or expand the strategy of
existing alerts
- to designate very easily the Workfiles (PatentExaminer)
workfile module to store, analyse, rate,
annotate alert results, attach documents
and share everything or selected workfiles
with your colleagues
- to not receive email notification when
an alert run shows no result
- to not receive emails at all and consult
results through the portfolio only
All alert results now also contain, at no
additional cost:
- a link to the patent copy in pdf (or
to each family member's if a family is
available)
- a link to the mosaic of all drawings
in pdf
- a link to the available registers when
available (CA, CN, EP, GB, KR, US, WO...)
- a link to the dynamic citation graph
(showing cited and citing references)
Finally, all alerts on patent legal status,
family information or register modifications
can be accessed from the same portfolio, in
the designated section (PatLegal Monitor).

in Workfiles (PatentExaminer) is an IP management and
analysis platform to map and create stats
by date, country, priority country, inventor,
assignee, IPC, etc.
It also enables you to stat the evolution
by appearance/disappearance/growing speed,
inventors, assignee, and IPC class.

The PatFamily graph link

release PatLegal Monitor
This easy-to-use alerting service automatically
notifies users of any changes made in patent
families, legal status and file histories
from various patent offices. Types
of actions monitored include legal actions
related to published patent applications
and granted patents during their prosecution
and opposition.

coded to highlight any new, modified, or
deleted actions making them easy-to-read,

A brand new way of accessing the service
is available
It is now possible for anyone to order
online a DesignFinder
subscription for one day, for a week or
for a bundle of days in a year. Additional
options to save searches or to set Alerts
are also available.
Using the system can start immediately as
the payment can be made online with a credit
card or with a PayPal account.
This new possibility was highly requested
by those users who do not need DesignFinder
on a regular basis.
DesignFinder is a very powerful information
management system aimed at federating, retrieving
and watching registered industrial design
information.
Today, it covers World registrations at
WIPO, the European Union as well as five
Countries: France, Germany, Spain, United
Kingdom, United States.

Designs: DesignFinder WO database extended
back to 1979 Since August
16th, you can search the complete World
database in DesignFinder.
It features:
- An extended back file of complete text
records back to 1979.
- Improved image coverage from 1985 onwards.
- Improved and more complete legal status
record.
- 1 Record per design and not 1 record
per application making it consistent with
all other databases.
We hope to soon be add more images prior
to 1985.
DesignFinder continue to provide the only
comprehensive coverage of Industrial Designs
information.

Questel
system upgrade
On July 1st we launched the latest version
of Questel which is more robust and performs
10 times faster than the previous version.
This extensive two-year project to migrate
our Questel service from mainframe to UNIX
not only results in a faster and more dynamic
system for you, but also will allow us to
update databases faster and gives us an
excellent platform to offer the latest in
search, analysis, and visualization technology
in the future.
All of the databases with the exception
of those listed below will all be available
on the new system.
On June 30th, 2007, the following databases
are not available on Questel:
- FRANCIS
- SW
- *WODESIGN
- *FRDESIGN
- ITALPAT
- RAPRA
- IALINE
- FSTA
- JANSSEN

Adds Patent alert Feature to the Merged Markush Service
(MMS)
Questel MMS customers can now set up and
receive Patent alerts (selective disseminations of
information also known as Alerts) for new
chemical structures added to the latest
updates in the Merged Markush Service. These
Patent alerts will extract new compound number (CN)
results from updates of MMS that match an
Patent alert query. Patent alert results can in particular
include both generic and specific Derwent
Compound Registry (DCR) compound numbers.
Customers then have a choice of recalling
these CN results in either MMS or in the
