Senior patent data analyst job description

Questel is seeking to hire a senior patent data analyst to improve the company’s offering in professional patent search and analysis products. This is a temporary position to replace a person currently on sick leave.

Primary duties:

  • Analyze patent data sources available from patent offices and third parties ;
  • Liaise with technical personnel at patent offices on patent data issues ;
  • Coordinate with marketing team to design patent data products ;
  • Specify and plan the integration of new patent data sources in existing patent databases ;
  • Coordinate with database development team for data integration, refining technical specifications, and validate data architecture choices ;
  • Test new patent data products, oversee fixes from technical team ;
  • Assist support team with complex patent data requests.


Job requirements

  • 5+ years experience in working with patent data, preferably at a Patent Office or a patent information commercial provider ;
  • BSc in information sciences or similar degree ;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, In both English and French ;
  • Experience with data mining and/or text mining tools would be a plus ;

The candidate
Based in Germany, France or England, you`ve been working in the patent industry for at least 4 years and understand the patenting process and challenges.  Initiative, tenacity, and strong organizational skills are your leitmotiv.

 

 

Frequent travel is the base of your position as it involves direct contact with IP specialists, giving presentations during the industry events, and attending conferences.

Sales Engineer China

Job Details
We are currently looking for an Sales Engineer located in or near Shanghai, China. The person will be responsible for developing and executing long-term sales strategy for our families of products; identify and manage selected clients; and maintain relationships.

Objective:

Open the Shanghai market to our brands, and create a sustainable market through sales calls and marketing activities.

Responsibilities:

- Create and maintain client base via online Customer Relationship Management tool (CRM).
- Contact, present and negotiate with potential and existing clients.
- Monthly visits and reports on these visits.
- Participate in trade shows, events, and conferences.
- Train customers.
- Weekly and monthly reports on sales and results of marketing and promotional activates.

Requirements:
- Attention to detail.    
- Fluent in English and Chinese mother tongue.
- Highly organized and analytical with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 
- Proven high level customer service orientation, teamwork, quality, and flexibility.

Job description

Your job scope will include selling and marketing the full range of our service as well as providing customer service in the territory:

• Build and manage a knowledgeable sales team
• Build and manage a knowledgeable customer service team

You will be responsible for a portfolio of predominantly large companies and carry on the following tasks:
• Assess customers' needs and make sales proposals based on those needs
• Train users on our services
• Expand usage of our offering to other departments or subsidiaries within client companies
• Present the offering to prospects in tradeshows and users meetings
• Draw up marketing plans
• Report all actions on a monthly basis
• Plan actions based on usage statistics

Customer service will respond to any customer request and conduct training sessions when needed.

 

Requirements

• Management experience
• General knowledge of the information industry (Intellectual Property is a plus)
• Perfect knowledge of our offer
• Selling and negotiation skills
