Key Word in Context

...Now available on the Questel service. Display only portions of the record where search terms appear.

While this is ideal for full-text searching, it can be used in any Questel database. An added benefit is that KWIC can be used with any display format.

There is no additional charge for using KWIC unless a payable display format or field is used.

Using KWIC

KWIC format n-m	Where format is a display format and n-m is a record range
KWIC 1-5	Displays the first five records in Standard Format (usually a chargeable format) and Key Words in Context
KWIC TEST SET	Displays the entire search set in TEST format (free) and Key Words in Context
PRT FOCUS works the same as KWIC Note: While KWIC is free, if terms are searched on a non-basic index field, such as patent number or patent assignee, and KWIC is used, a charge for displaying that field will be incurred. Using KWIC in the trademark files to display the mark field will also incur a charge.
Example:	US/PN KWIC TEST
A charge for displaying the Patent Number field is incurred.
