Improved patent number searching

Our patent number search pages have now all be harmonized to use the same number identification rules.

Additionally, rules have been improved for more authorities. You can enter patent numbers in a wider array of formats and they will still be recognized and found.

Example: Australian patent number search

In the past, searching the AU199912345 patent number was finding no result. With the new system, the number will be formatted to search AU1234599 or AU9912345 and find the corresponding patent family.

The "Detect and display patent numbers" option on the number search page will no longer be available because the algorithms are now fully optimized to detect all patent numbers.
