With a 17 years’ experience in industrial property management and strategy, Guillaume took part in hundreds of IP strategy missions and negotiated more than 50 license agreements. After a first experience in research, Guillaume worked for 6 years at FIST (Paris), a technology transfer Company, first as a Business Manager then as an Analyst in the companies’ creation department where he accompanied the swarming of 6 companies (Neurokin, ART, RosaTech, Euroclide, Nanobiogene, Intra-cellular Therapies, Inc.). In 2002, Guillaume was recruited by the CEA to create and develop a licensing activity in the field of health care technologies and dealt with several cases of infringement.

Patrick Pierre co-founded and is CEO of Questel Consulting, created in May 2009 from a take over of CEA Valorisation’s consulting in strategy and management of IP. In 2013, Avenium merged into Questel, an international leader in software solutions and services for patent analysis. Patrick’s team works on analytical tools and methodologies that enable industrial partners to anticipate the evolution of IP and build IP roadmaps in alignment with their business objectives. Patrick also participates as an IP expert in numerous national and international projects.
Having worked in many international groups as Prospective Director and VP Business Development, Patrick Pierre developed from 1995 the specialization in technology transfer, focussing on the development of licensing activities of private European research institutes.
In 2002 Patrick joined CEA Valorisation (TTO subsidiary of CEA: One of the top 100 global innovators with 1,668 unique inventions filed between 2010 and 2012) as Licensing Director. With the CEA, Patrick created new revenue growth by initiating stick and carrot licensing programs. His team also trained the research laboratories and scientists about how to build their patent portfolio strategies.
Patrick and his team also act as facilitator and commercialization partner for the intellectual property rights industry (more than 100 licensing programmes to date). His experience includes working with large industrial groups, governmental research bodies, start-ups and SMEs.
Today, Patrick’s ambition is to expand the worldwide market and adoption of complete IP solutions including tools, services, resources and improved executive competencies.
