Questel Announces the Acquisition of AboutInnovation.com

AboutInnovation.com is a French Legaltech startup cofounded in 2016 by the Saint Aubin brothers, Thomas and Baptiste, who developed a SaaS collaborative system for building and managing IP portfolios. It specifically targets small and medium-sized companies with its exceptionally easy-to-use interface and a smooth implementation process.

“Surprisingly, most companies still rely exclusively upon software hosted by their outside counsel, rather than using a dedicated IP management solution” says Charles Besson, Questel CEO. “This approach blinds these companies to the business side of their IP portfolios, making them unable to efficiently manage, monitor, and analyze their intangible assets.”

AboutInnovation will be renamed Orbit Capture and will enrich the Questel SaaS suite for IP and Innovation. “Orbit Capture is the perfect addition to Orbit Asset, Questel’s other IAM solution dedicated to larger IP portfolios” adds Baptiste Saint Aubin. “It is a fully integrated solution with real-time workflow customization, intuitive interfaces, and advanced dashboards to share IP information.”

In addition to having deep experience in task automation, data visualization, and contract management, AboutInnovation is also highly capable when it comes to blockchain-based technology. With this in mind, Questel is also announcing the release of a new, complementary IAM module called Orbit Blockchain for timestamping data and documents in just a few clicks. Orbit Blockchain will enable our clients to prove the existence, integrity, and the ownership of data sets to efficiently and effectively protect IP assets and rights.
